So I normally don’t host give-a-ways on this blog, but it turns out that I have a $30 Groupon for Tortugas Cocina in Lambertville, NJ that expires this Saturday, September 28th. I purchased the Groupon over one year ago and forgot all about it. My loss will be your gain.
Since I cannot redeem this before the 28th, I thought I would share this with you. Consider it a date night (albeit cheap) on me. Not only is Tortuga’s Cocina voted the #1 Mexican restaurant in Lambertville, the area is so beautiful during this time of year. Good Luck!

A long week. We all have them, and lately they seem to happen more and more often. I have about given up hope that weeks will run according to plan and be stress-free. Hell, I get nervous when everything does run smoothly because I am certain I made a mistake somewhere along the schedule.
So this week, for Finally Friday, I wanted to share with you my secret to getting through the work week.
It’s actually quite simple and easy for anyone to do.
What is it?
PLAY MUSIC LOUD
Simple, right? Beastie Boys, The Black Keys, LL Cool J, Arcade Fire, Lord Huron, Beyonce……the list is eclectic, but it works. Played loud, it keeps me sane and smiling. Even helps me deal with the occasional WTF moments and people. So get your playlist and smile through to Friday.
Now it’s your turn. What’s on your playlist?
Happy Weekend Folks!
March Madness has evolved beyond the fact that #12 always beats #5 sometimes.
Let’s begin with the weather. Weather forecasters can’t contain their excitement with the possibility that snow is the forecast almost every other day. It may not actually snow, but the threat is there. And on days when snow is absent in the forecast, forecasters love to share how warm it was this time last year. Madness.
Speaking of “where the hell is Spring”, Poor Puxatauney Phil is being sued in Ohio. Don’t the courts have better things to do than sue a groundhog and don’t get me started on spending tax payer’s money. Seriously, in this day and age, I thought everyone realized “Groundhog Day” was ceremonial and not science. (It also gave us one of the best Bill Murray films, but I digress.) Madness.
And since we are on the topic of stupidity, let me take a moment to talk rudeness. When will people realize the manner in which you respond to another human being via email is a representation of who you are in real life. If you are having a bad day, it’s best to NOT respond to anyone whether by phone or email. Just call it a day and hope tomorrow is better. Madness.
There are nine days left in March 2013. There is another snow storm “in the works” for this coming Sunday and Harvard (rank #14) beat New Mexico (rank #3). Yes, folks. It’s March Madness.
*disclaimer* Have it be known, I know absolutely nothing about college basketball. I know my bracket invite is meant to make the pool more fruitful financially. However, in my years playing this silly game, I have come to learn #12 always beats #5 sometimes, Gonzaga seems to do well (and I think it’s a super cool college name) and every year I say I don’t care if I win this pool but will check the rankings at least once per hour in rounds 1 – 3.
On this sunny bright 54 degree Friday,
here in Central NJ,
I am working from home in my favorite spot in the house ,
with my desk facing the afternoon sun beaming through the window,
and listening to a tune that just needs to shared again on this blog.
Happy Friday Friends! What are you listening to?
It has been some time since I’ve posted a Finally Friday. And in fact, I was debating whether I should even bother to post today – considering the short work week. But as you can see, I rationalized that being the first week of 2013, a Finally Friday was in order.
So let’s freshen up on Finally Friday. Finally Friday is all about breathing a sigh of relief that the week is over with a photo and its “short” quote. Yes – similar to Wordless Wednesday, but created for those who have no capacity to be wordless such as myself. That being said……
For the first week of 2013, its ups and downs have made for an interesting week. But then again, such is life.
This week’s photo is of both Hubby and I ….Feet and legs crossed, relaxed viewers of movies that cost $0 to rent (Apple TV at its best). So what did we watch?
Matrix – Aside from Point Break, this is Keanu Reeves best movie – although, I still have no clue what is going on despite how many times I’ve seen this. Couldn’t Neil have become Anderson in movie #1 and avoided my confusion for movies #2 and #3?
21 Jump Street – Not a bad remake! I was pleasantly surprised by the odd casting. Loved the cameos from Depp, Robinson and DeLuise.
Prometheus – Wait? Is the prequel to Matrix or Event Horizon? Alien – really? Yeah, don’t remember those films other than watching them with my eyes covered – very much like I watched this film.
Quite honestly, I would have watched anything this week. Just sitting and laughing with the Hubby while the children were snug in their beds made the nights enjoyable and special. Not sure we can swing three movies every week once all the after school activities and meetings get back into high gear, but we’ll certainly try!
