As a child, one of my fondest memories of the holiday season was sitting down at the kitchen table and writing my list of what I wanted for Christmas. It’s part of my holiday memories as much as opening presents on Christmas Day.
Yesterday, a flood of circulars began appearing in our mailbox. While Toys R Us and Wal-Mart send their holiday themed gift booklets, it’s the Target toy book my children clamour to get their hands on.
So today I am thankful that not only the Target toy book arrived, but that each toy appears next to open check box that the child can just mark as a toy they like. Such a genius idea! Seeing my children create a list (or check off in this case) brings me back to being eight and ready for the magic that is Christmas.
